So you know all those terrible captchas that are next to impossible to read? Google Street View's algorithm for clearing up street numbers and stuff is apparently 99% accurate at solving them.

So, the tool designed to prove that a human is operating the website is handled best by a machine.

I really hope this becomes well-known enough that they do away with those terrible captchas.

I've seen stuff like "What's 2+2?" or "What's the name of this website?" or more dedicated stuff that only people who are knowledgeable about the topic matter of the website would know the answer to.

I hate Captcha's so much, I would rather just answer a simple question instead of having to renter my password 45 times as I keep trying to enter one of those terrible things in correctly

Yeah, I've had those problems too. Luckily, the vast majority of sites I visit have already done away with captchas, but I still run across them every now and then. Hopefully this development will bury them for good.

What idiot designed those things? Like I'm supposed to be able to make out a scribble of a letter behind walls of distortion and extra crap. At least they eventually added a button to try your luck with a different one.
