Didn't the courts already kill net neutrality because they said it was a service and not a utility like electricity and water?

No, they killed it because while they felt something like the Net Neutrality Act was necessary that the FCC had no authority to push regulations like that in the way it was handled. I'm sure money changed hands to convince them of that but net neutrality is far from sunk, especially with Comcast being required to abide by the net neutrality act for the next several years (7 years from the NNA going into effect, specifically) regardless of the fact that it's no longer the law gives a pretty big window of time to get something done.

Petition signed. Let me say this. When you guys sit on a computer and do NOTHING, they win. Yeah signing petitions, calling, spreading the word around might amount to nothing, but at least I will be able to look at my children and grandchildren's faces and tell them I did everything possible to protect their freedom. I did everything in my power to give them a future. Can you say the same? Yeah, we may not have money like these companies do, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to protect our rights. Our ancestors fought and died so we would have rights we enjoy today and which many people around the world do not have. Evil triumphs when good men and women do nothing.

There's no point in something like this beyond a little self satisfaction. It will literally do nothing and there's NO reason to go and get on a high horse like this over doing nothing.

Holy crap man its the internet calm down. i honestly wouldn't care if it suddenly was cast off the planet for 500 years. If anything I would get more done and console gaming would rule again.

This isn't a matter of "Just the Internet" This is a case of Corporations being given free reign to defacto censor the free flow of information between persons.

Imagine not being able to access websites like piratebay or Rapidshare just because they didn't pay your ISP enough money to secure the "fast lane" internet access. No one should ever have the right to restrict your access to information, especially not shadowy corporations like Comcast.

Its an important issue to care about, sure. But holy crap man, you are really going to act like some freedom fighter or superhero with your "Look at your children and grandchildren's faces" line over signing a ****ing petition online? Get over yourself.

Life is normally too short to purposely seek out things you hate, but apparently that rule doesn't apply on the Xbox One board.

It's just the internet.

Just like dlc. "It's just costumes. It's just maps. It's just an ending.."

Companies like Comcast love this mindset. I'm with you TC.

*Examples used above are Street Fighter IV, Halo 2/CoD 4, Nier/FFXIII-2/Mass Effect 3 (though free).
