You can spend $400 on a console and $400 on a cheap PC, or you can spend $800 to build your own and have the best of both worlds.

Here you go, get this
http://www.staples.com/Acer-X2611G-Desktop-PC-Core-i3-3240/product_IM1RJ3540

And this

I wonder why the american versions of staples, best buy, etc, have horrible prebuilts

They all are, no one seriously thinks they can get a proper gaming machine for under 500 dollars.

It is pretty ridiculous, unfortunately it's just hard to take anyone seriously here anymore.

I also don't really understand why anyone would want a PC that's equal to or "slightly" stronger than an Xbox One or PS4...if that's as high as you're shooting than you might as well just buy the console. I tend to think that anyone who uses that criteria is probably interested in mainly playing games that are also going to be on those systems, so if all you're looking for is a PC to match the performance of the systems, then why not just buy one of those?

Tell us which games you're interested in playing on PC.

No point in getting a Z87 motherboard if you aren't getting an unlocked processor
