Anything less than 256GB and you might as well just buy an Xbone.
Forget SSD's, s'all about dem ramdisks, son.
Do they make PCI-E RAM yet? If not, how can I start selling that?
I've never used a PCI-E SSD. Are they actually faster than RAM disk?
I never have either. Nor have I used a RAM disk. I only have 16GB. I'm a fraud :< --- http://i.imgur.com/zkNfWZ0.png "Some people have skeletons in their closets. I just have a bone in my pants." -Mitchell2003
I have 16 GB also, but I don't think I've ever used more than 6. I'd like to try some virtual machine and RAM disk stuff with it, just to do it, but I don't know what use I'd put a RAM disk to. --- What senses do we lack that we cannot see and cannot hear another world all around us? -Dune
I would get a bigger ssd first. That must be one of those ssd's from the 90's. --- I7 4770k @ 4.2Ghz | Hyper 212 EVO | ASRock Extreme4 | G Skill 16GB DDR3-1866 | Corsair HX850 | SG 2000 GB | HAF 912 Advanced |
They actually make SSDs that plug into a ram slot. They're called Ultra DIMMs, or UDimm for short. I think they require a mobo with ECC support though. --- Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there XBL, PSN, Steam, Origin, BSN, GFAQs, MC: PhilOnDez
16gb and you need more?? your ram had nothing to do with your sluggish performance unless you were encoding video whole playing a game while having 20 tabs open while watching youtube while watching japanese American and Brazilian porn all at once. Even then i doubt you'll need more ram.
I still have 4gb and I barely encounter any sluggishness.
4 tabs, not 20, and no porn open at the time. But I do encode and capture the game at times with music playing (many times on youtube) with my facebook, email, and a few other pages open. Never had a problem.
Anyways, right after I got home after work, the day of creating this topic, I said "bleep it" and reformatted the computer. It was almost that time anyways.... As soon as I finish downloading and updating all my Steam games, I will try and recreate the problem.
The funny thing is, what ever game I was playing at the time, Injustice I think, I cranked down the settings, and I still had the problem. Crossing my fingers that I fixed it with the format. --- XBOX Gamertag: ITCHYisVegeta
