Prison Architect

Worth it if I did not like Darwinia? I remember playing that game along with World of Goo back in the day on GameSpy before indie games were a "thing," and wasn't feeling it.

How would you describe it?

How would yooooouuuuu describe it? You run a prison, and therefore it's nothing like Darwinia.

It's just like zoo tycoon, theme hospital, dungeon keeper, rollercoaster tycoon, but!

You run a prison.

You build and manage your own prison but there are still alot of bugs that need to be patched

It's a pretty fun game, but I discourage you from supporting an indie dev who think it's okay to charge $30 for a pre-alpha game.

The game doesn't seem as though it'll ever be out of alpha/beta. Just another early access game that people pay for years and years before it's finished (and may never be?). The game looks charming, but I wouldn't pay for it yet.

The workers will stop construction at random times, prisoners will get stuck, deliveries wont be unloaded and garbage wont be loaded. Once these things start happening in your prison they usually dont resolve and you have to start all over.

I got it for under $20 back last summer. At the time I bought it I didn't really think it was worth the $20. I haven't gone back to it though so I don't know how much it's changed since last July.

Now I see it's $10.19 on sale... It might be worth that much now.

OR If you really wanna be mean, Buy the $17 version that lets you name a prisoner and name him after someone you hate... (LOL?) That wouldn't really be worth the extra $7 though.

These devs are actually ones that are doing the "early access" thing properly. There's been an update to the game every month (except one which they announced ahead of time, because one of the devs had a new kid) and they have been very good at communication with the community.
