Humanity has been unable to produce a decent shooter ever since the Unreal games.

Am I the only one who likes UT3? I thought it was fine. (though it was my first UT so I may be a bit biased)

Nope.
Started with UT99 back in 2000. Played the entire series. UT3 is my second favorite UT, and tied for my third favorite Unreal.(that being Unreal/NP > UT99 > UT3/UC2 >>> 2k4 > 2 > 2k3/UC1)
UT3 was a fantastic follow up to a great series, and the only thing it lacked was more. More gametypes, more maps, more assault and domination, more character parts, more options, more colour. The core gameplay was spot on and felt very satisfying, and the engine scaled great. I actually get better performance in UT3 than 2k4.(because UE2 is a POS)

It's hard for me to excited for this "announcement" after the great time I had with unreal, ut99 and ut2k4.

I have a feeling they'll f*** it up. Preordered content, map packs, no modding, and regenerating health are all stark possibilities.

Still, I've wanted a modern arena shooter in the vein of unreal and quake for too long now, so I'll try to remain cautiously optimistic.
