True but tracking you for commercial purposes involves ads. Also I don't use social media and use a different computer to book flights and hotels.

If tracking is what you're worried about, then may I suggest Ghostery? It shows you all of the trackers and lets you block them. Adblock + Ghostery = win

I don't use ad block on my tablet and I try to disable it on YT channels that I like.

They really are obnoxious and awful though. But some content providers simply need that money

Because self-indulgent YouTube/Twitch gaming channels will complain if you do.

Seriously, does anybody think here at all? How do you think sites like GameFAQs run? You do realize hosting and maintaining websites, especially that generate this much traffic, cost money. You already use this site and many others like it all for free. They need to generate revenue to keep alive. You blocking ads essentially blocks the money coming in to pay for such things.

On the point of the paranoia tracking complaints: really? Out of the billion+ users of the internet, do you really think there are people out there who are focused on tracking you and your torrenting of porn? No, nobody cares, they have bigger fish to fry.

For sites like these, you can just lol since they have no fear of closing down due to not enough ad revenue (being owned by CBS and all). It really only matters on smaller sites where they'd be hosting out of pocket otherwise. And there are actually a scant few sites round the net that have relevant/useful ads, apparently.

Lol if CBS doesnt see profit on this site they will close it down. So pretty much by using adblock you are sending the message that you want gamefaqs or other websites to be shutdown, or for them to add a subscription fee. - Taylor Swift: Queen of Pop.
