Voltage on a 4770k @ 4.2ghz

#1Ruzz9Posted 5/4/2014 6:37:51 PM
My temps are low/fine but it seems like my 4770k auto OCs to 4.2Ghz at 1.2029v which is the VID or Core Temp. Is this alright if my temperatures are okay? 48 load min of 25-30

Yeah it's fine. You could probably squeeze another 0.3-0.4ghz out of it if you wanted to by upping the voltage ever so slightly.

Just to check in again, voltage is 1.2029 in CoreTemp @ 4.2Ghz and no crashes or instability after testing. Do you guys this this voltage is enough? I get a random stutter (FPS just stops but everything else works) in DayZ at random moments.. then back to high normal FPS... maybe it's just because the game is a buggy piece of crap? Lol

if it's stable through your own personal testing, then it's stable enough for you to use, apparently.

Hmm while I haven't done more then. 3 hour test on my 4.2ghz clock don't wanna run it to long on a 212 but I have mine stable so far for 3 your prime 95 test and no crashes with my voltage set at 1.120v that seems low compared to every other person I've seen or is that normal.

I'm just gonna assume it's DayZ being a crap optimized buggy game with the random frame lockup cause outside of that I get smooth FPS.

Just had the insight that since I was using the HERO VI auto OC that maybe the voltages weren't enough causing that... but pretty sure it only does it in DayZ

With 1.2 you should be able to hit 4.5. I'm at 4.7 with 1.3.

Don't worry Dayz does that. It's not optimized at all.

Phew! Thought maybe it was doing that because my CPU wasn't getting enough voltage or something. It literally just drops to 0 fps, locks up, then resumes just fine... and it happens at random times in random intervals.
