Buying my 1st gaming PC soon

#1Stubbled_PS3Posted 5/8/2014 12:21:52 AM
Hello everyone,

I have never owned a gaming PC in my 24 years on this planet before. I am able to get one in a month or so as an anniversary gift from my girlfriend. I will have somewhere in the neighborhood of $800 or so to start with.

The problem is, since i have never owned a PC (i only have an iPad) i have no idea where to look. I know it is cheaper to build one yourself and i think that is the route i want to go. I get the satisfaction of building it myself but i also learn the skills of doing myself.

I have been a strictly console gamer my whole life. I own a Wii U, PS4 and a Xbox One and would like to join the PC side of things to see all the games and experiences that i have missed over my whole life.

Thank you everyone

When it comes down to buying the actual parts you'll want to check out amazom.com, newegg.com, tigerdirect.com. Also good places to read reviews and such.

If your one of the few fortunate enough to live near a microcenter they usually have some great deals.

logicalincrements and pc partpicker are great places to start and tweak your build.
