How do you feel about Escort segments in video games?
I find them.......erotic.
P.S. - I use correct grammar online. Insane, no?

I remember most escort missions being the one hard and annoying mission in otherwise easy and bland games.
I think the only GOOD escort in gaming history was RE4's Ashley. She called for help, stayed out of the way, kept close when possible, and sometimes made life difficult for her abductors. And if you didn't like taking care of her, all you had to do was give her the knight's armor.
Decided to replay Silent Hill 4, got to the Hospital part and remembered just how strongly i wanted to protect Eileen. Then it hit me, Eileen is the only escort character in a video game that i really cared about and wanted to keep safe *and i played through alot of escort type missions....*
Well I liked Ashley from RE4. I'm okay with escorts as long as the AI isn't stupid
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it
Burn them. Burn them all.
Depends. If the NPC's are capable of defending themselves properly and are actually competent at following you, they're not that bad.

Difficulty isn't why I dislike Resident Evil 4. I don't want to be a baby sitter. The fact that I have to keep an eye on Ashley and when she does get grabbed it effectively puts a time limit on the game where I have to save her and considering every single form of time limit is something else I hate in games, this just annoys me to no end. I want to worry about my character that I have 100% control over and nothing else.theres really only a few instances where having her with you is a massive liability. you can tell her to wait and hide in dumpsters and as long as you know where the enemies are coming from its very easy to route them to your advantage and not have to worry about her since she usually always gets behind you. In fact i can only think of 2 specific rooms in the whole 20hour game where things can get really hectic because of her. shes almost a non-issue otherwise provided you arnt stupid.

Escort missions in flight sims and air/space combat shooters I can generally tolerate. Same with the ones in the old MechWarrior games, particularly Mercenaries. Your charge may be slow and lumbering, but you usually have access to some long-range weapons and can often keep hostiles far enough away that they don't pose a threat to whatever you're escorting - and in some games, your charge may have some teeth of its own.
I whole-heartedly agree with this. Although I'm much more inclined towards the "you go first and clear the area, then come on" approach ... then again, rolling escorts I'm used to as long as I have the tactical freedom of AI delegation (FreeSpace 1 in general, the mod Blue Planet, if you've done "Forced Entry")...
... many other games are quite atrocious with this.
Five years ago, I lost 30,000 sandwiches and cakes in a blink of an eye. And GLaDOS just f___ing laughed.
She would not die. Now we know our crime was sin.
considering one of my favorite games of all time is nothing more than a large escort mission the entire game..... I still hate them lol. ICO was something special though

They vary drastically. Yourda from ICO is probably the best escortee in all of video gaming. That game is delightful and the entire thing is an escort mission, pretty much. Natalya from GoldenEye 007, though... *shudders* No. Just no. She's one of the absolute worst. Ashley from RE4 is about in the middle. Most of the time she's fine because you can toss her in a dumpster and forget about her until the area is clear. When she gets captured, though, suddenly "LEEEEON!! HAAAALP! HALP! LEOOOON!"... Ugggggggggh. Some parts in the mansion are pretty annoying.
