What old MMO's are still around that you played in your youth?

I'm honestly surprised that these two games are even still around when I looked them up. I played these back in 2002-2004 or so.

Runescape. Since I was only born in 1997, I must've missed a lot of great games that came before my time, and Runescape was the only thing I really got into--mainly because it was a browser game.

Runescape. If you can call that micro transaction heavy, "pay to level faster", "evolution of combat" crap runescape still.

Yet another for Runescape. I always wanted to get into Ultima Online, but couldn't for several reasons, so I dipped my toes into the MMO landscape with this game. And for what it was, I quite enjoyed it.

Although I've long since stopped playing it with any serious intent, I still log into my original account every couple of years, just to see how it changed.

MU Online like you TC. In many ways it is still the best MMO I ever played.

The 4th Coming (La 4ième Prophécie), I have yet to see anyone on GF recognize it.

It was a French server with a french version of the game in my time but I'm sure there were English servers somewhere.

Its not alive in its original servers obviously but its still seeing some servers, its impressive, though I don't play no longer and don't care for the game's state now

I only specifically miss the old servers, where PvP was enabled but roleplay-level penalty existed, you could end up in jail, there was a royal guard guild, etc... basically, the only way to properly do open PvP MMOs. It had some item drops, so you feared death, but killing people had risks (and too many kills made you noticed, there was some system for the royal guard to know when someone killed a lot of people).

I haven't seen anything like this since, and nowadays they just are open PvP server bore where everybody just murder each others at every turn recklessly.

And one done right be reborn. The core of that game was amazing. It wasn't a MMO, though, whatever they ever said about it.
