Why Origin is starting to grow on me.

$1 Bad Company 2.
Free "On The House Games". (Free BF1942, Plants vs. Zombies, Dead Space) etc.
Good UI, no lag.

Granted there is only so much on Origin in terms of games, but at least it's not stuff like that indie "Towns" crap.

Step up your game Steam/Valve/Lord Gaben, living with the crown for a little too long imo. Gotta wake up, before it's too late.

TBH I could care less about the storefront aspects, it's just a background tool to run games. That goes for steam too. My money goes to whomever offers the product I want at a price I'll pay. Usually that's Amazon

That said, I do prefer Origin's UI. About the only thing it has against it is the lack of a proper backup function.

Makes sense. I'll give you that.

Origin is nice, a lot of people knock it but I've never had problems using origin when there is a sale. It always works and the interface is better than the gray doom that is steam.

I also enjoy the fact origin isn't Indies USA. I rarely use steam because it's just a shadow of it's former self....even 2 years ago.

I'd give Origin a chance if they started selling some games worth getting.

I'd like to see them develop a rival to Steam's Big Picture mode. Considering the sheer amount of console games published by EA, I'm surprised they haven't thought of it already.

Main reason I don't even look at it. Just use it for activating the few Sims games I don't get used for the digital key.

Ya know... i'll get burned at the stake for saying this, but I can see EA doing the same thing as valve. Maybe valve will buy EA... it's right there in the name. stEAmbox.

Then we'll finally get Half-life 3, Team Fortress 3, Portal 3.
EA is well known for their third installments.

Mass Effect 3
Dead Space 3
Crysis 3
Red Alert 3
Sims 3

Isn't EA worth around 4 billion? I don't see how Valve could even make them an offer.
