Why Origin is starting to grow on me.

Third nipple.
Definition of Early Access - A game that is in alpha and will never be finished. Fanboys will use the excuse of it being in alpha to silence criticism of it.

TBH I could care less about the storefront aspects, it's just a background tool to run games. That goes for steam too. My money goes to whomever offers the product I want at a price I'll pay. Usually that's Amazon

That said, I do prefer Origin's UI. About the only thing it has against it is the lack of a proper backup function.

Meh, both the workshop and community hubs for games are pretty neat. Workshop obviously for awesome super simple mod support.

And the community hub is very cool for games ou are into. See others posts, screenshots and videos from the game. Even random ass unknown European games have gotten me a response when I posted on their discussion boards. Whereas, for comparsion, the same games' board on gameFAQS would have been dead before it even started.

Neither of which need to client open to see. Why would I bother going into steam to read their boards when my browser is both better and faster?

You want to check a guide but don't feel like getting out your phone and alt tabbing out might cause problems?

Can do it just as easily in Origin. Both have a built in browser both of which I never use.

I just contacted EA support, top notch service through live chat. On the other hand, Steam support tickets sometimes takes up to days for a single reply.

I've had no issues with Origin since the EA bundle dropped. If a game is on Steam and Origin, I'd still prefer to get it on Steam but "No Origin, No Buy' is no longer my opinion.
It's time to add PS4 & Xbox One/Xbone to the banned list on the PC board.

EA's Origin having cheapo sales of EA games are similar to Valve. Valve gave away Portal 1 for free, L4D (or was it L4D2?) for free. Dota2 is free, TF2 is free, etc. They also have had amazing sales on VALVE games - like CSGO for $3.74. Not quite a 1 dollar deal, but it's a modern game unlike BFBC2.

That said, Steam is getting kind of cluttered. It's like when myspace got popular and everyone decided to add so much crap onto their pages it was eyestraining and headache inducing. Not to that degree, but heading in that direction.

The Steam client has always acted slow for me. :/

EA really should figure out a way to get EA sports games to PC and watch Origin get used a lot more.
