good laptop for college and some games?

#1QuaguamanPosted 5/18/2014 10:30:54 AM
Gonna start college soon and I need a good laptop to get my work done and play some games (mostly MMO`s and dota 2). I was hoping to keep the price around $800 to $1000. Thanks a lot!

You could get it for less. Something around a 7670m or 640m shouldn't cost too much by now and should run those games fine at 720p/med. Though of course you need to find a laptop that's fairly priced with them.

Use notebookcheck to get an idea of the strength of a laptop's graphics card. I don't think it should cost $1000, but it depends on what else you need the laptop to have.

Before Pharaoh shows up, yes, you can game on a laptop.

Which MMOs? Some are more graphically demanding than others.

*Turn Evil can now be cast on players. When used, it applies a small goatee and causes them to explain their diabolical plans while steepling their fingers.

Highly recommend MSi. They are very good quality and great bang for your buck.

That laptop will easily play MMOs and DotA2.

Select the 800 dollar model's Add to cart button, once you get to the accessories tab, choose special offers, tick y510p removable graphics GT755m5. 920 dollars before tax nets you a computer with dual gt755s for cheaper than most computers with weaker specs.

There is no such thing as a good laptop that can play video games.

It scares me that the current generation that is coming out of college are MOBA fanboys who can't keep their frustration under control. No wonder they're all unemployed.
