Any way to route my PS3 sound through my PC?

#1emidasPosted 5/24/2014 11:14:29 PM
I have my PC speakers and amp set up on my PC, and I have one of my monitors as my "console *****" (it has DVI to my PC, HDMI to PS3, VGA to 360). Is there any way to get my PS3's sound to go through my PC? The sound sometimes isn't what I'd like it to be, coming out of my monitor's built-in speakers.

My monitor has a 3.5mm audio plug for outputting sound to speakers or whatever...

But maybe you could get something like this?

I should re-phrase. My monitor is capable of having the three wires from the amp plugged in, but that requires unplugging them from the back of my PC and plugging them into my monitor. I'd like to avoid constantly unplugging stuff. So I'd like to have the ability to have my amp plugged into my PC, and my PS3 to somehow take advantage of that without me having to mess with plugs constantly.

I'd assume that would involve you having a receiver, and using that to manage which input is being outputted.

What amp do you have? I have mine connected to my sound card through optical so I can use my headset through my PC.

The ps3's optical out works if you have a sound card with an optical input.

find your PS3's AV Multi out cable:\

and hook up the red and white to this (sold separately ):

that gets plugged into your Computer's or Amp's Line In.

In the PS3 menu, under sound options, output sound thru the AV Multi

its how i have mine set up, works well.
