What will be the difference in performance if I switch to a less powerful PSU?

The one I have is 600W. My friend wants to swap because he needs something higher than the one he has to use his new graphics card. The 430W (his) will still work for mine, but I was just wondering if there'd be noticeable changes in performance.

you'll lose 28.33333% of your frames per second across the board. . .

(all joking aside, what are the psu's in question? and the specs of the systems they will be powering?

Did you test it under load? Just because your computer's fine idling with a 430W PSU, doesn't mean it won't shut off when doing something more graphics/CPU intensive like gaming or something.

Other than that, as long as it's enough to power your parts, there isn't a difference in performance either way. Even then, I wouldn't trade unless 1. he was paying you. 2. The PSU is equal or better quality than yours.

if you don't already know the answer to your own question, chances are good that your friend is scamming you

I use a EVGA 600W Bronze power supply. All I know about his is that it's 430W.

I have a radeon 7790

Seagate Desktop Hard Drive 1TB/TO SATA

4GB Memory Module Hyper blu

AMD FX 8350 (8-core and 4.0Ghz)

ASRock 960GM/U3S3 FX AM3+ AMD 760G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

He's coming to my house to switch it and if it doesn't work on mine and I start having problems then of course I'll just swap it back. There's no "scam" going on.

This

You're being scammed if you're letting your 600w EVGA go in exchange for a 430w prebuilt junk PSU.

Sell him yours at 85% what you paid for it, buy a 500w from a reputable brand.

It's no scam. A scam would imply that he's intentionally trying to be dishonest and deceptive to screw me over, so you guys can calm down with that.

Now accidentally screwing me over is another thing. Either way, i'd still be screwed over.
