Has anyone tried redeeming The Witcher on gog?

I bought the first two games on Steam, I was able to get my free back up copy on gog, but my cd key for the original Witcher doesn't work.

Should be a link to a verification page on the right side of the page where you enter the key

Some roads you shouldn't go down because maps used to say there'd be dragons there. Now they don't, but that don't mean the dragons aren't there.

I had no problem registering my physical copy of the first witcher a while ago.

Yeah I just went through that process, a little more effort than I like, but whatever. They'll email me back within the week on their 'decision' lol.

I knew the cd key wouldn't work lol, does anyone else dread whenever they ask you for a cd key? It's always in the back of my mind that it won't work.

I remembered having purchased the Steam version years ago and did the verification method by sending the link of my Steam account profile and proof of purchase to GOG. Afterwards got the reply and they sent me the code for activation for the GOG version.

Giving them the CD key, of my Steam copy, worked for me a few years ago.

I did it with Witcher 2 so I wouldn't have to deal with Steam's client.

You have to redeem it on a specific page
