I finally got enough space for 2 monitors on my desk. Suggestions?

I'm not sure if I should get a second 1080p monitor or get one of those 2XXXp monitors or whatever the size is between 1080p and 4k

I'll need a new GPU so that I can game either on both monitors or higher res though.

Any suggestions on what monitors to use? Would a GTX 770 be able to run most games on high with 2 monitors at 1080p? Or on one higher resolution monitor?

NVidia surround requires 3 monitor. If you want to game on 2 monitors, you'll have to go team AMD. With multiple monitor gaming, you'll quickly be annoyed with the bezel/monitor edge since.

This vid from Linus is over 2yrs old, but it's pretty much the ultimate gaming set up if you have the money/space.

really? damn.
I guess I'll get a higher resolution monitor and game only on that then while leaving the second monitor for web browsing etc
Is there no sketchy third party way to get 2 monitor gaming with nvidia? Although, I didn't really consider the monitor edges. I'm getting another monitor regardless so I figured I may as well try :(

Also, I heard that both monitors need to be different resolutions. Is this true?
I think my friend couldn't get his second monitor to work when both were at 1080p, he had to set one lower for him to be able to use both.

Not true at all. You can use whatever 2 monitors you want with their own resolutions even if they are the same.

Alright, thanks.

Is this monitor any good?

I'm not really sure if LCD or LED or whatever this monitor is is best for gaming/movies etc

60hz refresh time is fine, I don't need higher than 60fps.

I have a 1440p monitor as my main and use a 1680x1050 (lol I know) as my secondary when I am in games. It works

That's a nice monitor but it's 4K... unless you have a very, very high end PC, games are going to run like crap at that resolution.

I was thinking about this one actually since it seems to have less of a discoloration issue:
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=558_1631&products_id=27799

But I don't really know the differences between the difference types of monitors. TN, LCD, LED, IPS, OLED, I dunno which one is the best for gaming, and all the ones that aren't TN costs multiple thousands at the moment.

Also, my current GPU supports 4K at 60hz I believe. I'm fine with not being able to play modern games maxed at 4k, but I'm iffy about the scaling issues I've heard about. Is there a catchall way to fix this?
