We all knew Titanfall would fail due to the small 6v6 multiplayer size...

I play it and have plenty of fun. 6v6 is fine.

Troll harder.

Obviously SOME people still play it, but for the most part, most of the people that were hyped left disappointed.

not because of 6v6.

then why....?

Tfall is fine. I think the big issue is the industry is saturated by FPSes nowadays.

And we were right. It's dead now. Barely anyone plays it anymore. Um, EA, this isn't 1998 anymore. In this generation we have games with 1000 player battles. Battlefield is 64 players. Even CoD is 4 times as big. How can you think 6v6 would possibly be fun?

Yeah, that's not remotely true. The closest was the I believe 256 player maps in "Mag" on the PS3, but of course for that game they had to cut back on the visuals (relative to other shooters) to hit that player count.

Battlefront II had 256v256 servers iirc.

PS2 could theoretically have something like 2000+ player battles if the entire server had everyone at one point and it didn't crash under the strain. That said, bigger does not equate to better. Appropriately sized to the experience will always beat herp derp lets toss more players in because we were dropped on our heads as a child and don't comprehend map design and flow.

Case in point, BC2 kicked BF3's ass hard because it built all it's maps specifically around the player count it supported. It would not have been a better experience if some bobbleheaded twit decided that what Arica Harbor really needed was double the player count.

Some roads you shouldn't go down because maps used to say there'd be dragons there. Now they don't, but that don't mean the dragons aren't there.

I think the people who want bigger player counts on all games like to camp/revel in the distraction/loss of significance. There's less pressure on you to actually do something when you're on a team with 32/64 other people than when you're one of 6.

Depends on how you put it. If you just simply design the big level and just throw it in. Then it would be bad as hell.

Titan Fall was fine with 6 v 6. It's a great game that's biggest downfall was the lack of content.

This. The games didn't last long, so play for an hour or so and you'll have seen all the maps. There weren't many guns and in typical Infinity Ward fashion there was no attempt made at balancing them. The gunplay was also incredibly simplistic so it didn't take long to learn to play.

6v6 didn't kill Titanfall, a lack of content did. It simply didn't have staying power.
