We have so many sites like greenmangaming, gamefly, gamersgate, origin, amazon digital etc etc that go on sale all the time, Steam sales are just not the same anymore.
Steam saturated the market with sales on its own long before the other sites started joining in. I honestly think it would have been better if they'd just stuck to a summer and winter sale, and no others (no fall or spring, no publisher weekends, etc.), but that's only from a buyer's perspective. Honestly, if it makes them and the developers more money, they can run sales any time they want. I just don't have the same anticipation I used to for them, largely because there's much less I want than there used to be.

I barely bought anything the last couple sales and I've only been around for a few of them. First couple I probably spent a lot just because I had almost nothing in my library after building a computer.
