I don't plan on upgrading from 1080p anytime soon. Im pretty sure my i5, 8 gigs of ram is going to last me a good while still.

System requirements are always exaggerated out the ass by developers and PC enthusiasts alike.

My gaming PC is as low-end as can be (Phenom II quad core, 4gb RAM, Radeon 7750, 900p monitor) and I can run Tomb Raider on high @ 50-60 fps and Far Cry 3 @ 40-45 fps. Not on ultra. On high. Of course I have to sacrifice some graphical fidelity like disabling AA and post-processing, but the games still look gorgeous.

Pretty much this. I still have my 6870 from 2011 and it can still run most games on high at 30 frames.

games made on tech from 2005-2006, then ported to pc with higher assets
it's 2015 soon, things change

i think it's nice

What are you talking about? That was actual gameplay that was shown at E3!

I'm pretty sure that the consoles don't have free reign to that 8gb of RAM. Last I heard it was maybe 5-6GB. That's still a lot considering last gens capacity but I'm far from worried that my 8GB won't be enough for games on the next gen consoles.

these next-gen games are designed with 8 threads

TMU the consoles 8 core threads are drastically different than the PC's and weaker with lower clock speeds( clock speeds I'm told when added up from all cores would essentially equal a PC quad core).

Console bug testing has been outsourced to gamers now. For $60 you too can become a game tester.

Doesn't work like that.
