Is this SSD worth it?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-840-EVO-Series-250GB-2-5-SATA-III-Internal-Solid-State-Drive-/331229285889?customid=0956e29a6ba64ce4ae5041aeb0630e82&pub=5574652453&afepn=5337259887&campid=5337259887&afepn=5337259887

Now I know this is a "top-tier" SSD in terms of quality, performance etc. but, (for those of you that've followed) with the recent release of Crucial's MX100 as a very good prime/performance drive to compete with this one- will prices go down for all drives? OR (more importantly) should I wait for Samsung's response drive to this?

I have an 840 Evo and a Crucial M550. The Evo is not top tier, it uses TLC memory. Get an M550, it uses MLC.

Does the M500 use MLC memory too?

I have a 840 Evo as well the 250GB verison. It's perfectly fine for a middle their SSD. Too bad with both BF4 verisons, windows 8 and BF Hardline beta theres only like 150 GB's left.

Can't say I'd prioritize MLC over raw performance.

Some roads you shouldn't go down because maps used to say there'd be dragons there. Now they don't, but that don't mean the dragons aren't there.

I agree, but back to the main question: Go with this SSD now? Or wait for prices to lower / new SSDs?

That's always the question with tech isn't it? Personally I'd sit on it a while and see what the last half of the year brings. Particularly Black Friday and the holiday sales.

That's one option too, but I plan to enjoy my PC this summer since I'm off school and whatnot. It's more of is the SSD market about to make a big leap anytime soon or will this drive be a little 'future proof' (maybe not price wise) for a bit? The capacity is great for my uses.

I would wait for Intel 530 series (240 GB) to drop down in price again. I've seen it go as low as $139 shipped. It's better to spend the extra for a MLC drive with a good brand backing it up.
