Fans can pull (intake) or push (exhaust) depending on which way you mount them. They'll normally have arrows showing which way airflow will be.

It seems most are exhaust. I dont want to just reverse the fan and have the fan blades exposed. I would like to shop for fans that have a protective grill on the outside while pulling air in

i really want this to be a joke topic. . .

pretty much all case fans have the motor to frame/shroud mount in the back (assuming you are saying the side that sucks in the air is the front), only a few really crappy fans have the motor to frame mount in front of the fan, the only ones i can think of are the Arctic Cooling ARCTIC Fan 12 Pro TC and the Arctic Cooling Fan 12 PRO PWM 120mm Case Fan, both of which can't be mounted to pull air into a case

now if you just want a case fan grill, sidewindercomputers, has them for pretty cheap, pretty much any fan you could mount to the front of your case will pull air into the case, i wouldn't worry too much about the direction of the air flow, though if you are, delta (FFB series and TFB series) and silverstone (air penetrator series) both make directional fans if that's what you are looking for

There are fans with grills on them? Don't think I've ever seen one of those. Seems like a good way to reduce air flow. Throughout the hundreds of computers I've built, all of the fans I can remember have always had exposed blades and I can point them any direction I feel like.

If you need to search for some online, they're called "fans."

Wait, I just realized that power supply units usually have grills over the fans. Mount a bunch of power supplies all over your computer. Note that they will blow hot air.
