Beside it being the best RTS game ever made ever apparently.

Not sure who said "best ever", but I was a big fan of it. The expansion is worthwhile if you can get it cheap.

What a charming prospect - the offer of oral copulation in exchange for pizza. If only the battle of Trafalgar was won in such a fashion. - Matt Berry/Snuff Box

Zero Hour?

I picked the digital deluxe edition up from my local Goodwill for a dollar, and that's the one that is included.

It always made me laugh how the game balanced the GLA. They literally have RPGs that lock on to jets.

I dug up my copy a week ago. I couldn't get it to boot up for some reason. I don't think it'll recognize windows 8.

I tried different compatibility modes.

Let me know how you got it to run.

Mine worked just fine...not sure what's up.

Either way prepare to have hours of your life wasted. I don't care to say how many I have inside that game.

Both the base game and Zero Hour booted fine without any compatibility modes.

Windows 7 64 bit. Makes me nervous to upgrade to Windows 8. I've been on an old computer game buying spree lately.

I don't see it mentioned here, but it's pretty easy to get Generals to run in 1080p (or whatever your native resolution is) with a simple .ini edit.
