AMD and Radeon usually have higher temperature even without overclocking so I don't recommend it.

TC, by virtue of having an AMD chip that means you cannot use Intel CPUs without getting a new (Intel) motherboard.

For Xenoblade, tweaking is quite important. Especially if your audio is stuttering, check some guides out and experiment a bit. I managed to get it to run perfectly, but it ran like crap at first on my i7-2600K. I don't think you'll be able to run it in HD, though.

HD in Wii, Gamecube, and PS2 emulation has no impact on the cpu at all. That's all on your gpu.

I can't speak for all, but the ps2 emulation, rendering resolution is entirely CPU.

Dolphin uses the GPU to an extent, but it's still very CPU-reliant even when it comes to resolution. Their FAQ says "Geforce GTX 460 will handle almost any game you throw at it in HD resolutions", so the OP's video card is definitely not the problem here.

I had to use DSP LLE to get rid of Xenoblade's audio stuttering, but I guess it varies.

I fired up ps2 on my old desktop with its 9600gt, playing FF10 and strugging to get 60fps, it was using 30% GPU when running at 1080 x 1080.

MD Vishera FX-8350

Just curious. The AMD Vishera FX-8350 is compatible with my motherboard?

And it would be a significant leap, correct?

Finally, what other "things" do I need to buy with the CPU?
