Laptop getting WAY too hot.

#1sockroxPosted 6/19/2014 10:02:13 PM
I got a new laptop that I wanted to use to play games when I'm out of town and stuff. Its an Alien ware, got a great deal on it ( very cheap from a friend ) and its really nice. Problem is this thing gets up to 95 degrees according to Core Temp when I'm playing games.

I notice at first, games run fine, but after the temp spikes up it starts to chug bad. If I could keep it cool, it would be fine I'd wager.

Suggestions?

Suggestions? Like don't use a laptop? That's what they do, gg research skills.

Open it up and clean out the vents and fan, probably clogged with dust.

No one here likes you, you do realize that, yes?

In $30 range they make decent quality fan rests with 4 or 5 fans on them that have an extra usb slot to go into a wall charger with usb slot ($3 ish tops if you no name china it)

Best bet. Helps more to power externally than draw from lappy but it still gives good benefits if you stick to usb option. Just saying for the money the cheapest cost ($10-15) go a bit further for more fans and that choice.

Back up your hard drive data doubly especially if you turn it off a lot. Hot hot hot is bad hot hot hot cold is a killer.

If by no one you mean derps and peasants, well, nothing of value was lost. Being accepted by stupid people isn't exactly an accomplishment.

Hmm i wonder why a ****ing laptop is getting hot when playing games. gee, such a tough reason. it certainly couldn't be that laptops simply aren't meant for video gaming, no...no

Because it totally matters if a bunch of anonymous nerds on a forum actually like you. Maybe you should rethink your priorities if you actually believe liking someone here actually matters.
