Guys, I know there's a big steam sale going but Team Fortress has a huge update

Here's a rundown of what's been going on (so far)

-Demo sticky spam nerf. Stickies now take two seconds to 'ramp up' to full damage. If the demo detonates them immediately they'll only do about half damage. A long over-due nerf that finally addresses people using Stickies as if it were a Rocket Launcher.

-New weapons. Most notable is the parachute for Soldier (and demo). When rocket jumping the soldier can pull his chute and slowly glide down instead of falling. Makes him more vulnerable to some classes while doing this but also (obviously) makes it much easier to rain down rockets on those below.

-Bread

Ever wondered what TF2 would be like as a TV show? Well, there you go.

-New partner taunts and class specific taunts. All sorts of antics are happening with the new taunts and Conga Line being the biggest change yet. When you start a Conga you character will slowly dance forward (you can direct where you move) indefinitely until you cancel out of it, but the best part is any number of partners can join in on your taunt to start dancing too. All it takes is one player to have the taunt for an entire team to start dancing, and enemy players can now join in on partner taunts too, so that's fun.

Other taunts make use of props now, like the engie setting up a lawn chair and chilling drinking beer while watching his sentry do all the work (like the conga, this taunt will go on until you cancel it)

-Themed alt weapon skins. This update is uh... bread based for some reason (watch the video I linked to). Something new that I don't think TF2 has done before is provide alt skins for items. It's a good alternative to trying to come up with worthwhile new items/weapons, just reskin stuff that is already worth using.

-More expected to come (possibly today). A lot of people are speculating a new map and even possibly a new game type. I don't know about that but I do know there's definitely going to be a bunch of new cosmetic items (can't have a TF2 update without new hats!)

I feel like this game is so complicated i wouldn;t even start playng it because of how nuts it is now. Seriously I'd just get destroyed :(

the level of play seems way too high to start :(

If you have ever played a FPS before, can use a mouse/keyboard and are mildly intelligent then you will be much better than the average public server player. Just stick to Valve servers until you feel comfortable with the game.

I suggest starting as a medic and simply follow your team while you heal them. As long as you're healing people you'll be contributing. Observe what's going on and pay attention to everything while healing. Just try and not get yourself into stupid situations and get killed.
