And any word on what's next after
Gtx 780?? That only cost around 500$ though

Not really. It's branded and marketed as a gaming video card. If it was a workstation card, it would be a Quadro, not a GeForce. Also:

I like good performance as much as the next guy...but I can buy a used 2000 Mercedes convertible for that...and have a hella more fun than any PC game has ever brought me lol.

It is.
As for when it'll be outdated, as soon as they make a faster dual GPU. It'll likely play games quite well for a long, long time though. Like, 4~5 years of medium-high or better.

If you believe a word of that, their marketing department has done their job. Doesn't change the fact that they're workstation cards.

The Titan was never meant to be a serious product line, they are just workstation cards being sold to careless consumers.
