I've been in a rut when it comes to games lately, not interested in playing anything even after the sales, about 20 minutes in I lose interest.
Played Shovel Knight today since backers got early access...played for 2 hours straight. Lotta fun, very fleshed out. Goes to show how modern game design could have gone a long way into making NES games more fun. Everything in the game could have been done on an NES for the most part, game design just wasn't there yet.
There's a mini-game in the first village you find, underground, kind of hidden. Played it and then whole game just clicked. Felt like I was playing my first NES game when I was 5 again. Really good feeling that I haven't gotten back recently.
Anyways, indie games are like the new AAA games or something.
How much is it? I may just have to pick it up. Hopefully it doesnt get buried in the excitement over steam sales. Tough time to release a game.
I checked the website and it's listed at $15. Also on the Steam page, it just says it's coming out a few hours from now, but there's nothing yet for buying it. So far it's just on the official site where there's a Humble widget to preorder the game and some $25 deluxe edition with a manual and art book.
