About to start Skyrim, what to expect or bear in mind?

Uninstall it and Play Oblivion instead.

Don't listen to this guy, play Morrowwind.

Don't listen to these guys, play something good (read as not Elder Scrolls).

Expect console UI and shallow role-playing

Anything that would enhance the feeling? It's the first time with any Bethesda or Elder Scrolls game, and I heard this game is a big deal.

The game is trash, please read my posts in this thread to get educated:

Play Morrowind, or Oblivion with FCOM Convergence, you won't regret it.

Haven't started it yet, but I'm convinced to download skyUI and the bone weight reducer.
About people saying Oblivion is better, well, I have yet to try both. If I happen to like Skyrim, I'll get Oblivion for sure.
But right now I'm still trying to finish Three Kingdoms Tale of Heroes 7 and other games. I've got the feeling that ES games take lots of time and I want to concentrate on Skyrim if I happen to love it.

Starting with Skyrim and moving backwards may not work too well for someone that has never played one of these games.

if you've played oblivion its gonna feel alot smaller because of the way villages and towns are made, they're actually a part of the overworld, not their own instances.

The first troll you see in game will kick your ass and it was put there on purpose to prove that you aren't as powerful as you think you are.

In fact I'm pretty sure the only reason that they put the bear in that cave at the start is to force the player to realize that Skyrim isn't like CoD and you really do have to pick your fights.

What to expect? Expect an extremely mediocre and buggy game until you've slapped enough mods on it that it's barely recognizable.

Also use Mod Organizer and not NMM, there's my tip.
