This might sound like a weird thing I'm looking for in a game but...

If anyone remembers Neopets, that crappy(but nostalgically awesome) Flash-game filled browser game? I'm kind of looking for a game, preferably available on Steam, that's similar to that.

I'm talking, exploring different worlds, earning money, real-time events/quests and restrictions(like how Animal Crossing has shops close at night). I don't want one of those F2P MMOs, I want something casual where I can do stuff daily and have to wait for certain times to do certain things.

I know Facebook has a lot of those games, but they're so incredibly pay-to-play it demotivates me since I can literally spend money to become better than all of my friends at once. And Neopets, is just boring now and I can't even believe how much I loved it before.

I never played Neopets, but have you ever tried Black & White? It's a pet-based-RPG-like-strategy-village-building type game. It's hard to describe, but it's a classic and you might like it. Check out some Youtube videos.
. . . methodical, exacting, and worst of all, patient.

Thank you, I'll check it out right away, I didn't expect a suggestion so quickly.

So a pet simulator? This might be an odd suggestion, but the old creatures games. (the sequels have fancier graphics)

Spore/Galactic Adventures?

I didn't really feel Black and White. Checked out Spore as well, and... meh.

Also, not a pet simulator, at least not exactly one. What I liked about Neopets is the RPG aspect of it. It was like I was living in this fantasy world. Everyday I'd spin the prize wheels, earn money, discover new things. I wasn't on any specific mission, I was just living with my pet and feeding it and playing games to earn money to buy weapons and houses and such.

Actually The Elder Scrolls would be such a game that would fit what I'm looking for, but I've finished them.

You are just all over the place, my friend.
Honestly, Pokemon is right up your alley.

But since you are constantly jumping ship from "Neopet-esque" gameplay to "Fantasy Middle Age Dragon Slaying, Blood-Sucking, Werewolfing, Dungeon-cleaning RPG", I'm not sure where to point you.

It really sounds like Pokemon is the right answer, but you've more than likely have tried that.

As far as I know, Animal Crossing is the only game (to me) that uses the actual world time to shape how you play, aside from Pokemon's battery functioned berry growing and other extras, and Lunar Knights?
