Just saw this article. Apparently they are still working on cube world?

I can't imagine they are going to get too many more people buying the game ever, unless this turns out to be the greatest game of all time. I bought it and played it like an hour, then decided to wait for an update before I sunk any time into it. I don't even know if I'll be able to remember my account info.

Every now and then, they'll release some information about what they "plan" to do. It might get a few more people excited, and get a few more sales, but this game isn't ever going to be finished..

I haven't really been following the story or anything, but I think this is the first trailer or improvement plans they've released since they stopped all communication a year ago? Dunno

I kinda gave up on the game, honestly. It's the sort of thing I might look back into a few years down the line if they ever, EVER say they've "Finished" it and plan to release something officially.

I bought it after the last update thinking it might have a future, and a year of waiting with just so much as a single "Yeah we're still alive and working on it" mention taking months and months to get posted has made me lose interest.

The series, I believe it was Penny Arcade does, called "Extra Credits" did a video on Early Access/Alpha buyer/etc releases very recently. The video does an excellent job at covering the issues of this system, and a game like Cube World is a good example of a game people will buy into with hype, play for a few weeks, and then COMPLETELY forget about because they get burned out on an incomplete product:

With my time in Cube World, I'd have argued it's very arguably imbalanced and simply too slow paced and content lacking to be enjoyable. I played long enough to upgrade a couple skills and get a Hang Glider and then was bored to tears (Which mind you, getting that far took a good dozen or two hours).

Hm... even if they do release some more content it probably won't matter. The game's hype is already pretty nonexistent as of now.

Well if they do come out with an update I'll make sure to try it out though. c:
