Divinity Original Sin

Really on the fence with this title. The board is semi dead also for what some are calling as good as biowares old rpg's ( baldur's gate etc) So have many or any of you tried it out and have any good/bad feed back?

Wish it had a demo

Get it. One of the best games I've played in years, recommended to RPG enthusiasts mainly, the game play and attention to detail is amazing.

Buy it now.

It's a genre sub type I have never played before.

I can only say that.
Divine divinity, I suck at because it's real time.
Divinity 2 I was very good at.

Of other types of combat I've played:
X-com (old and new), very good
FF tactics, fairly bad (I sucked)
blackguard, somewhat bad (I still suck)
Kings bounty, fairly bad (I suck at it again)

In short, I seem to do bad at the grid combat games, and any game that requires me in real time to control more than 1 person.

I can't possibly know if I would enjoy this new divinity game without playing it. A lets play doesn't tell me anything.

Divinity: Original Sin is phenomenal, but yeah, it's definitely the kind a game a demo should exist for :/ it won't be for everyone.

Hit and Miss if you don't like RPGs as I am more of a sandbox and TBS kind of person. I didn't grow up playing those DnD CRPGs but I must say that I purchased Divinity last night and the next thing I knew it was already 5 in the morning. Game is great and really sucked me in.

I've heard it's pretty difficult, but in that old school way. That said, there's been some butthurt over the game and there's this hilarious thread from someone who exploded and blamed the game and not himself:

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention the game is brutal and assume the worst of any situation. The game has tons of surprises and even in town you are not safe. The game really requires you to think and that is one of the things that I love about those old CRPGs. Also never underestimate enemies even though you are about the same level and especially if they are above your current level. Just get it TC and you will never regret it. My only regret is I got the $9 source hunter pack which I could have saved towards another game.
