You're better off with Fallout 3 GOTY. Much better game imo.

Already played that, about 4 times, also not sure how that would affect my regret

I'll probably get it and Oblivion during the Quakecon sale or the Winter sale. I played Skyrim on day one on my PS3 and wasn't really into it, but I'm sure mods can fix that.

Great game once modded. The base game is pretty bare so you play it a bit, note what you hate or want to improve, and get mods that fix it. Then you can really enjoy the game.

I downloaded The Elder Scrolls: Arena and Daggerfall off the Elder Scrolls website, the DosBox versions compatible with modern operating systems. Some of the hardest game I've ever played, but that's because of the poor movement and combat mechanics.

I'm determined to get through them though. I've always wanted to play them. Had to restart Arena already because of a messed up save that I made and got stuck in a dungeon with no health, magic, or healing items. Really brutal game to get through. Probably over 200 deaths already from cheap behind the back attacks. If you can stomach the horrible graphics the game isn't that bad, it's just not something everyone will be willing to invest time in to.

vanilla skyrim gets insanely boring past the like... 20 hour mark or something.
PC hardware doesn't need to match console hardware in price when PC gamers save literal thousands from the software they buy.

It's definitely great.
