Apparently TC doesn't know that in many spoken Asian languages, the people have no letter that has an English-spoken "L" sound. So thus, when native Asians try to speak English and pronounce a word with an "L" in it, they use what sounds most natural to them, which just happens to be an "R" sound.

That's grasping at things to get offended about. It is racially insensitive, but then look at how old the game is. They have quite a bit of poor voice acting from various characters, there are things that would bother people of some nations like the bad French accents. They didn't have money or resources to hire really high quality voice actors like games can do nowadays. It could have also been worse, it's not like they got Steven Colbert to do his "Ching Chong Ding Dong" character for the game.
