does this anger anyone else?

Ok when I have a problem on my pc or receive an error code I always do a quick google search of the problem to see if anyone else has had my problem and see how they solved their issue. Ok so when google search shows my issue being discussed in a forum I tend to open up that item and read the topic.

Now what really angers me is when someone responds to that topic with a response like

maybe you should google that...

I JUST DID GOOGLE THAT YOU JERK!!!! Why did you have to waist my time with your nonsense.

so do me and everyone else a favor next time you see someone asking for help on a forum don't tell them to google. It's just RUDE!!!!

I only say google it when I know for a fact it's readily available on google.

What angers me is when the topic creator says "Okay I fixed it", but never reveals how he did it. Selfish jerk.

That's where I thought TC was going. I always make sure to lay out how I fix an issue. I've gotten PMs months later thanking me, lol.

If Windows wasn't such a s***** operating system you would get the error message from the start rather than having to look up a code.

At any rate, I can't say I've been in the situation. When I resort to asking for help, I normally lay out all the research and results I've done beforehand so people don't suggest those things.

That doesn't bother me at all.

I'd say the exact same thing to someone.

What people need to do is start topics like that with "So I've tried ____, and I have googled it, but I'm still having trouble blah blah blah." Let us know you googled it. Tell us what you did try. Let us know more information.

Not that big of a deal. Kind of petty to be upset over it, TC.

Most of the time, it's out there in 500 different locations; if you found one where they said "google it" then you can try one of the other 500 locations. It's much more frequent for someone to say "LOL I fixed it, thanx guyz!" and give no clue as to what they did. Or it could be worse. No responses at all.

What really chaps my hide is when someone comes here and says "I've tried everything!! NOTHING WORKS!" and then you google the answer and the first thing that pops up is what works... OR they literally HAVE tried everything (so they say) and then after 10 or 20 posts it becomes too annoying to try to help them.

Did you try... "YES! I did that first!", Ok, but what about... "Yes, I did that too", and then did you "YES (geez) I did everything and nothing worked" Oh well then have you thought about reformatting and starting over? "YES! I don't want to do that though." Good luck then (Exits topic).
