I'm rocking 16 GB right now and it's more than enough for my purposes, but I will probably upgrade to 32 GB anyway because when I build PCs, go big or go home.
Q: How can you tell when I'm trolling? A: I've made a post.

I'm gonna wait like 4 years before upgrading again; because I just built my PC and with 16GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum, I don't need/want to spend another $300+ on RAM.

Since its not relevant to gaming no. One who would sole change boards just for DDR4 and does nothing but gaming is wasting his money.

in a few years you won't be able to buy DDR3 ram or mobos that take DDR3 ram cheaply. Look at how expensive DDR2 ram has gotten.

Yeah, I have 16gb of 1600mhz ram so no need to upgrade anytime soon.
If brute force doesn't fix the problem, you're not using enough of it.

I've got 16gb of 2133, so I think I should be good for a while. But when I do upgrade, it depends on how much I want to spend at the time. If it was anything like when I built this computer, I'll have no issue spending $2000-$2500.

A new build 2016/17 with at least 64GB of DDR4, depending on the prices and the sizes of sticks.

I'm inclined to say 16, but by the time I actually upgrade 32 would probably be a better option.
