I held out on buying ys:origins during the summer sale because there was no daily or flash sale, and was starting to regret it, but here we go :) --- Sunshine is overrated... Pokemon x FC: 0130-2593-2107 Pokemon trainer name: Safyrya
If you wait long enough, pretty much all the sale are going to come around again at some point.
Steam rewards patience most when you do not buy games when they are released but wait a little. Titles like Max Payne 2, Far Cry 3, and Bioshock Infinite can be bought for 50% or less if you just wait 3 months or so. --- I5 3570 | GTX 760 | FILCO Majestouch 2 tenkeyless | Zowie EC1 Evo White | Asus Xonar DGX | Kingston 120 GB SSD | AKG k550 | Samsung S24A350H
i'm glad i didn't buy a gamecube when it first came out cuz i just picked one up for 10 bucks
I see your point. But when the waiting is just a few months, assuming you have other titles to play, it can really pay off. I remember buying Max Payne 3 only 4 months after release for 33%. Now, if this was a release I had been looking forward to for a long time and really wanted to play right away, I would have bought it at release. But since I was not that eager, I thought waiting would be the best option. --- I5 3570 | GTX 760 | FILCO Majestouch 2 tenkeyless | Zowie EC1 Evo White | Asus Xonar DGX | Kingston 120 GB SSD | AKG k550 | Samsung S24A350H
http://isthereanydeal.com is a big help. Using their waitlist feature you can tell it to email you only when the game crosses the threshold of whatever you're willing to pay for a game and they'll notify you when it's on sale in more places than just on steam itself. --- http://raptr.com/badge/arleas/uc.png http://www.speedtest.net/result/3201564081.png
Patience does pay off. I missed Mount and Blade: Warband during the Steam Summer Sale because I went overbudget and bought a bunch of games that I thought I would be playing right now but haven't even touched them. I've been wanting to play Mount and Blade since it's so highly praised I love games like it. I was hoping it was going to go on sale soon.
Lo and behold, it's on sale now. Just paid about $8.49 I think for the complete edition. I'm a happy guy. Downloading it now before I got to bed so it's all set up and ready to play when I get up tomorrow morning. Gonna give it a go and see what all the rave reviews are about.
I've never really regret a purchase I've made on Steam, but like many others, I've fallen into the trap of buying tons of games and never even bothering to open them and play them. Probably about half my library I've invested less than half an hour total into. My most played games are the Civilization series and Galactic Civilizations games. I have all the Elder Scrolls releases and Fallout games too which I loved on consoles, but now that I finally have them on PC I haven't even played them. They are next on my backlog.
