I'm glad I switched to PC this gen.

After 10 years of console gaming, I have no regrets in choosing PC over console this time around. Yeah, I spent a little more money, but the experience is so much better. I switched because I am sick of noisy consoles with paid subscriptions to use the internet that I already pay for.

While I don't intend to start a flame war about which is better, since it is a matter of opinion, I am going to say that you should try it! The relief of no 'gold' subscriptions, the better graphics and fps, everything is so much better.

So with that out of the way, why did you switch to PC gaming, and what are your opinions on it?

Also, is there anyone out there who switched from PC to consoles? If so, why?

I switched primarily to PC gaming in 2006. What took you so long?

I've been a PC gamer for a long time, but I also play on consoles. So far, with the new gen just out, there is no reason for me to get one of the new consoles. I primarily play RPG's and there is basically none on the new consoles, so I'm happy with PC gaming for now.

Eventually I'll prob get a PS4...but it won't be for awhile. I won't touch an X1 after last years E3 and my family and I got bored of our Wii after 3 months, so I have no use for a WiiU.

Lack of knowledge about PC and its wonders. That and a lack of funds. Got a good job though, so I can keep up with the PC market.

Anything consoles can do, PCs can do better.

And price? Most people own a PC, probably a $400-$500 PC. Spend another $200-$300 for a video card and maybe a power supply and you have a gaming machine for less than a console costs. That's not including the cheaper games and backlog.

I started as a console gamer (nes and sms), but during the early 90' I was given a PC for school work and such.
I was not a die hard pc gamer back then, until this one game (Tie Fighter) changed it all.
I choose the dark-side over mario and sonic after that.

I migrated to pc gaming this may because of the absolute rubbish getting released these days. Practically zero in depth games and if I hadn't I would of missed out on divinity original sin, wolfenstein and many more.

I never really "switched" to it, since I've been both a PC and console gamer since I was a kid. Finding out about the ability to use a TV as a PC monitor and getting a compatible TV a few years back was probably the main thing that really made me start getting most multiplats on PC. Well, that and the resolution/framerate gap between PC and consoles really getting noticeable with the move to HDTVs during the last console gen.
