I'm new to building and am in the same budget, but after a lot of research I would say you can find a better-priced PSU. You can probably go for a 600W PSU for ~$50-$60 and then upgrade the CPU to an i5-4690K.

From there- put that money towards a CPU cooler or the GTX 770.

You're overspending on the motherboard and power supply. You can't overclock so the Z87 motherboard is a waste and that power supply is too expensive for what it's worth even if it is a quality unit.

Also it's a new build so get Windows 8. Install classic shell and you won't notice a difference besides faster boots

Overspent on mobo and psu. Switched processor to the 4690 and mobo to a cheaper h97. Switched PSU to a seasonic 550w and upgraded GPU to a 770. Price will be about the same if you choose the MSI GPU that's $309, but I just prefer evga.

Also - microcenter has some great i5 4690 + MOBO combo deals. You'll get the cpu for ~$199 and a good MOBO for ~$120...

ignore what everybody has to say about the power supply
you'll end up saving money in electricity bills by going with the one you picked in the long run over a bronze psu

The one I linked is a gold PSU that's $50 cheaper

I'd really like to see the math that supports this claim. Unless you run your PC 24 hours a day I can't see it saving that much

Have to agree with this if you live near a micro center.
