As for TC's opinion, I'd like to switch over to Linux, but as I've spent my whole life using either DOS or Windows it's like starting over from absolute scratch for me.
Also games.

You ask a PC gaming forum whats the preferred OS when only one is good for PC gaming?
I'm sure you will get VERY bias results.

With that said, I have to vote windows for the games. Not because i think its the best, but because it can play the games i like.

I usually default to a Linux distro. My mainstay has been Gentoo for the last decade or so. I've played with a great deal of Linux variants and some BSDs but I always come back to Gentoo. I guess I just like breaking and fixing things.

That being said, I spend most of my time either with Gentoo or OSX. Windows only really comes into the equation when I want to play a game. Even then I've always got a laptop beside me or a VM open.

Ya know now that you bring it up, Windows command prompt really should have an option for displaying all text in Georgia. I mean Winfrotz has that option for crying out loud!

Use ConEmu instead. the default shell window is so 1980s.

Some roads you shouldn't go down because maps used to say there'd be dragons there. Now they don't, but that don't mean the dragons aren't there.
