Looking for a good case and power supply

#1sonicteam2k1Posted 7/18/2014 6:28:50 AM
Must be on Amazon as I have gift cards.

I need a full size case with great ventilation, lots of fans. I have a mid case and it doesn't get much air flow.

Also I need a great power supply. I run a R9 290X Windforce. So I need appropriate wattage...etc.

Do you prefer simple or more exotic looking? Some people detest the "spaceship" look of some gaming cases and prefer understated.

This is what I have. I had a mid tower and the airflow was just not where I needed it. Now its amazing. My temps are solid even with two 770's in sli.

I don't mind the design, as long as I get good airflow. but i would rather have something with a side panel with 2 fans and a removable panel to get to the bottom of the motherboard for mounting the cooler with ease.

does the side panel where the bottom of the motherboard sits, open up so you can mount the bracket for a cooler on it with ease? I had a case where I had to take the motherboard out just to get the cooler on. Pain in the ass.

Also does that front panel come off or open up where your optical drive is? I'm trying to get a feel for it by looking at pictures. Looks like it has a ton of room for fans. What size fans does it take?

Normally a good 550W PSU would be perfect here.
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20750xr is a fantastic deal but unfortunately the mail-in rebate is only for Newegg. It's still a good deal at $110 but not necessary for you.
You can go with http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-ssr550rm instead.

Yes, both side panels come up with basic thumb screws on the back. The front has a door with sound-absorbing foam that you open to reveal whatever optical drive you have installed. And I'll just copy this from another website: 7 fan slots: 1 x 140mm and 1 x 120/140mm -front, 1 x 140mm - side panel, 1 x 140mm - rear, 1 x 120/140mm - bottom, 2 x 120/140mm top - positions also support 240/280mm radiators
