PC Gamers: Which console controller makes the best Gamepad for playing PC games?

You can't use gamepad on a PC, any console gamer knows this.

Dual shock 3. I'm not going to waste money on a wired 360 controller (I'd never use it on my xbox and, really, the dpad is garbage. Shovel knight would have stunk with it). Once motion in joy is set up it's pretty easy to use.

The whole "lol controller" mindset is so 10+ years ago. Too many games now are multiplatform and just better suited to easy plug and play controllers.

I'm not really interested in how you've devolved as a gamer, son. Tell someone who cares.

No SNES? Sad. I wish I was still watching Nymph()maniac Volume 1.

people voting DS3 obviously haven't tried a DS4, it's better in every way

Do you ever contribute anything positive to this board?

No, never.

In fact, let me explain how Ningishzida works:

1) No opinion is valid if differs his own;

2) No popular recent game is good;

3) His opinions are completely back-or-white. A game can only be amazing or suck completely. There's nothing in between;

4) He acts like someone who REALLY needs attention by ALWAYS posting smartass posts;

Ningishzida is the type of user that should be on everyone's ignore list, so do yourself a favor and add him. ^^

Depends on the game.
But generally speaking, more games are compatible "out of the box" with Xbox360 controllers than PS3 controllers.

More 360 like dpad (ie: worse)
No pressure sensitive buttons (can't properly emulate ps2 games)
Controller glows.
Costs more (or requires owning a console that has 1 game)
Lacks braindead setup with xinput that ds3 has with motion in joy/ds3 tool.

I love the 360 controller, but I only really use it on certain platformers (Super Meat Boy, Battleblock Theater) and 3rd-person console ports (Batman, Saint's Row). Unfortunately mine's like 6 years old and I'm convinced the D-Pad is starting to go, plus I've worn a lot of the enamel off of the left control stick.

Honestly, I'm still holding out for a Steam controller.
