Issue with Sony Gold Wireless Headset - Not Connecting to PC

#1rdking96Posted 7/18/2014 2:57:09 PM
Hey guys,

Trying to get the Sony wireless headset to connect to my computer (Windows 8.1). It's the new PS4 headset that just came out a earlier this year.

I can plug it into the Headphone jack just fine to get sound.

I can plug it into the Microphone jack just fine to record sound.

But if I plug it in via USB, like Sony states you should be able to do, it doesn't seem to work. It installs drivers as if it's detected, but the device is listed as 'Unspecified Wireless Headset', and neither the sound or mic are detected from the headset.

Any chance there's something I'm overlooking before I run out to best buy to buy a splitter for the audio jack?

You wasted your money on that headset, seeing as how it's a headset and they all sound terrible.

Maybe this will help?:

Keep it away from your phone and any Wi-Fi signals.

I'm sorry you can't afford $100 for a decent headset.

I use $450 headphones and a $400 DAC/AMP. For a mic I have a $100 Blue Yeti desktop condenser mic, though I'm looking to upgrade to one of Audio Technica's mics.
