Only if you want to. The tears will still exist but they can potentially be much smaller to the point that you may not notice them. With a 770 myself, I'd probably live with the minor tearing in most cases and only use vsync with controller games where input latency has little effect.

With that GPU, no. Unless you're playing a game that doesn't tax the GPU.

Unless you're already hitting 144FPS constantly, doing so is going to negatively impact your framerate.
