Have you guys ever made a mistake in an MMO that had dramatic effects on your progress?

I was playing Vindictus and there is a restoration feature for if you blow up your equipment from over enhancing, so I thought I would try get it to a higher + enhance because I'm switching from Kai to Hurk.

So I blow it up during enhance and restore it only to find out that the item is no longer tradable -_-

So I blew it up again xD

Now my character is worthless because I reset a ton of my skills to restore the item.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

The item was a +10 Explosive Maelstrom Elchulus if anyone was wondering lol.
No game will ever come close to the fun I had playing Castlevania: HD.

You gambled and you lost it all. Take it as a lesson or do it again if you have a problem.

But it only truly hurts when you get hacked.

I deleted a Staff in a game once with 6 card slots filled with 2 top tier (at the time) cards. Just the 6 slots cost a few hundred USD's worth of upgrade scrolls for whoever made it.

Not on a gamble, but I sold off most of my WoW gold while I played and before I quit. Made like 3k+ in all, on top of payig for my sub fee for 6+ years. I think I still have few mil left though, so I guess I didn't blow it all up.

Well, I dumped a ton of points into intelligence as a warrior my first time playing an MMO.

I was always several levels behind on my gear because I was always missing strength points.
That character didn't have any physical value or whatever, but I had already put too much time into it to start over.

A couple years later, I NPC'd an end game weapon.

Am I doin' this right?

When it comes to gambling-esque mechanics, unless I can Save-Scum, I'm obsessively conservative. So I haven't screwed myself in any online games yet... though I don't play very many online games anyway.
