Which is the better card... Radeon HD 7950 3GB or Radeon HD 6990 4GB?

I am thinking about getting one of these video cards, but I am not sure would be better(higher FPS and performance) for the METRO games and the STALKER games.
I currently have a Radeon HD 6770 1GB which really doesn't do that good in those game.

That depends on how cheap you are getting those at.

Spec-wise the 6990 is the better card in theory, but in a lot of games the 7950 outperforms it.

Overall each card beats the other one depending on what you're playing; go with whatever one's cheaper.

Neither. Both are pretty bad cards

I can get either for $125 each, so I guess it may not matter since both are great cards and it is better than my 6770.

If you can get either for that cheap, just buy both. You'll sell the one you don't want for more than $125.

Probably the best idea, usually either one of those cards will sell for more than what you would pay for both. Essentially you could walk away with a free card.

I have a 7950 3GB and am happy with it (even if I plan on upgrading with the next Nvidia chipset).

Maxes most games at 1080p if it's a non-referance cooled version (newer games from the last few months won't do max settings, but that's to be expected for the age of the architecture).

At $125, it's a steal... sure it hasn't been used for mining?

What is mining?
Does it damage video cards?
