Hello, I'm fairly noobish when it comes to computers. I've been considering getting this laptop: http://www.amazon.com/GT70-Dominator-895-i7-4800MQ-7200rpm-Gaming/dp/B00IXQE4JQ/ref=psdc1_t1_B00IMTQ6I6_B00IXQE4JQ
for gaming, picture and video editing, and 3D modeling and animation (Before you tell me, I know it's better to get/build a desktop, but I'm going to get a laptop regardless). My budget is $1500 or less and this has been the best one I've found for the price, but I'd like the opinion of someone more in the know than I. Will it be able to do what I need it to? For games, I believe the most intensive game I have is either Saints Row IV or Dark Souls. It's okay if it doesn't run at max settings. As long as it runs at 60 FPS somehow without mods.

It will do what you need it to easily. Just be advised that with the power brick it weighs close to 14 pounds. It's not easily portable. It also doesn't fit in most 17 inch laptop bags. I had a real pain finding a laptop bag that it would fit in. When gaming you have to keep it plugged in or it will die in under an hour (but all gaming laptops are like that.)

As far as laptops go, those are great specs. You'll be able to do what you want for sure.

that laptop might have an extra hard drive bay, so consider a 120/256 GB to use a boot drive and for your programs
