I have 5 PCs in the house. How many of them can have my steam games?

If the game is available somewhere else that offers it DRM-free, consider purchasing it there instead so that you won't have to put up with restrictions. GOG.com is one of the better alternatives.

I haven't tested Steam's family/game sharing thing yet, but wouldn't that help in this situation?

Family sharing allows only 1 account to access the library at a time. If the primary account holder is playing any game on Steam, anyone sharing the library will be booted.

Anyone else think this sharing system is lame? What good are 200+ games when only one person is given access to the library at a time.

Yeah it's rather annoying. They should make some pay service where you can pick how many devices/PCs are allowed to use your library at the same time.

It's called GOG, which has no DRM whatsoever. Currently, you have to download installers to install games, but they're working on GOG Galaxy, an optional Steam-like client for convenience.

log in to steam online on all 5 computers one at a time then put them into offline mode. i heard you have to log in every 30 days but i cant confirm this. once they are in offline mode you can have as many computers as you like playing games.

I'm pretty sure you can stay in offline mode indefinitely, unless they changed it from when I used to do it a year ago.

What if I sign off the internet when I play a single player game, and the other PC, while on the internet, plays a game?

Don't tell me some games require me to be signed in <_< I'm just playing old Nosferatu right now lol.

Like I said, if the game has little enough DRM that you can bypass Steam checks, then what's to stop you? But that's the only case it works in.

You have no idea what you're talking about, lol.

As others have said, offline mode. Only downsides to playing offline are Steam doesn't record how many hours are played and achievements don't work.
