"Trails In the Sky will be coming to Steam and GOG July 29th for $19.99, 15% off for the first week. \o/"

Glad to see it won't be priced too high, and that it will be on sale for the first week as well.

Sweet! Steam is become more weeaboo-friendly all the time.
And this is being brought over by the same people who localized Recettear? Day 1 purchase!

Part 2 is. Evidently XSEED got the license for both parts but the sheer amount of translating required pretty much drove them bonkers so they sought out a collab with Carpe Fulgur to do the second part.

Anyone know when the 2nd one is coming out? Still having a tough time between getting both versions on PC and getting the 2nd off PSN(have the first already).

Also, do the people who bash the "power of friendship" trope understand that it's used as an allegory?

Yes, said game is worth $5. {3DS Friend Code 3050-7626-8586}

If everything goes along fine it will be available at Fall 2014 if not it's going to be early 2015 for what i have heard.

Either winter or early next year.

This question is for people who've played the game already. How does the story compare to 90's JRPGs like Xenogears, Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, and Final Fantasy VII? I don't have time anymore to waste on long JRPG's with boring, average stories and the PSP was full of those.

The story is just average (which makes the fact that it had so much text to translate seem like unnecessary bloat). The characters are sub-par and stereotypical, and the gameplay is average.

Pretty much it's just an average game, much like most of the PSP JRPG library. You won't be missing on much if you skip it; the only reason it's getting so much attention is because we've been in a JRPG drought for a while, especially on PC which doesn't get many to begin with.
